Lindsay Muchena

Founder of Fusion Families Foundation CIC. Mixed-heritage parent. Building the support system he wishes had existed for his own family.

His Story

Lived it before he built it

Lindsay didn't come to this work through research or theory. He came to it as a mixed-heritage parent, raising mixed-heritage children, running into the same gaps over and over: schools that didn't know how to talk about identity, healthcare providers unfamiliar with melanin-rich skin and diverse hair, and a general sense that services weren't built with families like his in mind.

Rather than accept that as the norm, he founded Fusion Families Foundation CIC to close the gap directly, starting with the community he could reach in Hampshire: peer support, workshops, and a space where mixed-heritage families are the norm in the room, not the exception.

"I believe every mixed-heritage individual deserves to feel seen, understood, and supported. My mission is to build a future where mixed-heritage families have the knowledge, representation, and practical support they need to thrive."

Lindsay Muchena, Founder

That belief is what shapes every programme the Foundation runs today, and it's what's driving where he wants to take it next.

Where He's Taking It

Beyond Hampshire: the long-term vision

The Foundation's programmes today are community-based and Hampshire-focused. Lindsay's ambition for the organisation goes further: a nationally recognised centre for mixed-heritage families, combining research, education, and community support with a sustainable funding model that doesn't rely on grants alone.

In Development

LINDSAY™

A premium beauty and haircare brand, developed through research into the needs of mixed-heritage individuals and families, and formulated for people with melanin-rich skin and diverse hair textures. Not yet launched. Built to fund the Foundation's programmes once it is.

Future Vision

Education & Training

Toolkits and training for schools, healthcare providers, and local authorities, helping professionals understand mixed-heritage identity and provide genuinely inclusive support.

Future Vision

Research Partnerships

Lindsay is working with University of Portsmouth business consultants on brand strategy today, with a longer-term goal of research partnerships into mixed-heritage identity and inclusive care.
