Every heritage, stitched into one belonging

Fusion Families Foundation is peer support, workshops and community for mixed-heritage families - built by people who've lived it, for families who've had to figure it out alone.

Our Story

Built from lived experience, not a strategy deck

Fusion Families Foundation CIC didn't start with a business plan. It started with a gap every mixed-heritage family in Hampshire kept running into, that no local service was built to close.

Founder Lindsay Muchena is a social entrepreneur and a father first. He saw it up close: children caught between identities with no one to talk it through with, parents raising mixed-heritage kids without a playbook, and support systems that treated "mixed-race" as an edge case rather than a family.

"Our families deserve more than survival. They deserve systems built with them in mind."

- Lindsay Muchena, Founder

That's the whole premise. Not a diversity initiative bolted onto something else - a foundation built specifically around what mixed-heritage families in this region actually need: people who get it, practical skills, and a place to belong.

Mission, Vision, Values

What holds this together

Mission

Belonging, by design

To empower mixed-heritage families through peer support, practical activities and skills-based programmes that build belonging, resilience and opportunity.

Vision

A society that reflects us

A society where mixed-heritage families are recognised, supported and celebrated - where services reflect the reality of mixed identities, not a footnote of it.

Values

Lived experience first

Respect for lived experience. Genuine inclusion. Practical impact over performative gestures. Collaboration. Integrity in everything we build.

What We Do

Support that understands the actual experience

Every mixed-heritage family carries something specific - questions of identity, belonging, and navigating multiple cultures at once. Generic family services weren't built for that. We are.

We're building services that celebrate your heritage while helping you navigate the real, everyday challenges mixed-heritage families face - through people who've lived it, not just studied it.

How We Show Up

Four ways we support families

Peer Support

Someone who gets it

Parents and young people connected with others navigating the same mixed-heritage experience - a community, not a helpline.

Workshops

Skills that stick

Practical, skills-based sessions built around real needs raised by families, not a generic curriculum.

Community

Real belonging

Regular activities and events across Hampshire where mixed-heritage families are simply the norm in the room.

Research

Evidence, not assumptions

We gather what families tell us and use it to shape services - and make the case to funders and policymakers.
